Welcome to the world of Samuday Psycon.
We are a team of Behavioural Scientists and teachers, specialized in the practice of Organization Development.
We believe that organizations are living entities that develop a collective mind and a spirit, and that like all living entities, have a level of fitness. Our work aims to heighten levels of fitness of organizations, teams, as well as individuals.
Fitness is visible in an organization’s inner energy (“innergy”), its resilience and its ability to develop greater varieties of responses to challenges of internal as well as external adaptation. In another way of saying it we have developed practices that assist client organizations to increase their vitality and learn ways of continuing to do so.
We have been in this practice from 1980, one of the earliest to start in India. Our educational backgrounds are in Applied Behavioural Sciences, Management, Engineering, Psychology and the Liberal Arts. Organisations from almost all sectors of industry, educational institutions and NGO's have used our services to make planned changes not only in their performance but also in their climate, culture and ways of working.
Our name:Samuday in Sanskrit means a group of people. Its core connotation is Sama + Uday meaning a group of people that has come together with a shared purpose in mind with the intent of collective achievement and wellness. The word Psycon has been crafted by putting together “psy” (Greek) from the word Psyche (mind and heart) and “con” (Latin) which is a prefix connoting coming together as in converge, congruent etc.
The covergence of groups is a key ingredient in any organisation's effectiveness and good health. Planned change, or OD efforts also hinge on willing participation and efforts of groups. Thus our focus on groups. The multi-lingual name is a reflection of the fact that in the emerging global order we are children of more than one culture/heritage.
We believe that human beings have been gifted with the ability to dream/envision a better future, the ability to conceive in the mind, giving rise to aspirations.
A second great gift, unique to human beings is the ability to look at themselves. Human beings thus can reflect on themselves and their current condition and plan new action to move towards a better future.
These two gifts combine into a great power: the ability to solve current problems, and, make changes by choice for higher states of wellness and achievement.
We bring with us disciplined, structured, intellectually and philosophically sound ways and means of harnessing and mobilising these gifts to create more effective and fit organizations. We follow classical Organisation Development (OD) steps and contemporary tailor made interventions and practices to help you achieve the desired goals.
We have all worked as employees at some stage in our careers in the Corporate Sector, Educational Institutions, Government and NGO’s. We do not come with a bag of predefined solutions but promote actions and learning such that you not only develop immediate solutions, but increase your collective capacity to do better than in the past. |
